The season is a long way away. But the MVP Race is Already Here!
Its Bonafide! Its Speedy! Its Powerhouse! Its LittleFoot! its the season1 PHL MVp Race!!! Here are the top 5 MvP candidates. *note* I based this imformation off ratings, stats, preseason stats, and Activity level.
MvP Candidates:
1: Flash-And1 Flash is just an absolute monster. Theres no other way to say it. Including the preseason, he hasn't dished out any less than 15 assists. He does more than pass the ball. Including the preseason he hasn't scored any less than 39 points. Like little foot, his only flaw is his defense. He couldn't stop a tennis ball from rolling across the floor. One thing that makes him so valuable is his playing time. Hes logging almost 48 minutes a game. But I don't see him winnng MVP unless he improves.
2: Littlefoot-Jordan
Littlefoot, selected 4th overall in the Phl draft has been putting up some big numbers. Hes scoring almost 36 ppg. while dishing out 15.5 apg. This guy is a complete offensive player. He has the handles to break anyone's ankles and the jumpshot to take any defender deep. Hes also a fairly competent rebounder for a pg. Grabbing 6 rpg to aid the big boys down low. Right now, little foot isn't playing as many minutes as flash is. Until he logs some more playing time he'll find himself 2nd in any MVP contest.
3:Speedy-NikeAlready has two preseason triple-doubles. More will follow. Along with those trip-doubs(like trip doubs?) he has won 3 game mvps. Game MVPs are really the most important stat in the MVP Race. Speedy is scoring almost 42 ppg while averaging 14 rpg. With Big Foot providing some solid support down low Speedy should look to continue dominating. Hes also Logging some serious playing time. If Speedy gets a 3-point shot he should win hte MVP award easily. That extra-demension would make him almost unstoppable.
4:Bigfoot-NikeHe hasn't had any game MVPs yet. But he keeps playing out of his mind like he has recently he will. Bigfoot is one of the most versitale players in the league. Hes a great rebounder. And a great scorer near the the basket, and he has great handles for a player of his build. But don't look for him to do anything special on Defense. He needs to start improving defensively or he won't reciever many mvp votes at the end of this season. Hes averaging 24 ppg, and 14 rebounds per game.
5:True Essence-And1If a Sg or wingman is going to win the MVP, Its going to be True Essence. He is probably the most talented player in the league. He dropped in 50 points in his first regular season game. And he shot 66% during the game. Hes not a ball-hogger like Gilbert Arenas or Kobe Bryant (3 assists with zero turnovers). And we know from his preseason that he can rip down the boards(9rpg during preseason). Once true essence starts blocking shots and swiping balls from opposing players, he will be almost unstoppable.
