For all and 1 players a new technology called palm blockers are familiar to them now there are no release of pictures to the equipment but it is described as a weight the size of a tennis ball with a strap attached to keep attached to the arms.The equipment is to force the players to use their fingers to grip and shoot the ball it makes the fingers stronger, and helps reduce hand injuries in-games. The equipment mimics the nfl version that a certain team uses.
AND1 also mimics another football trainining equipmen used by the nfl. The new basketball that they use in training camp are sprayed with a special coating that make them harder to grip and more slippery it simulates in-game situations add the palm blockers and its pretty hard to make a shot everybody was sent through ten drills with the new equipment and then did 10 without the equipment the players shooting ratings went up 10%.
We got a comment from their starting point guard Flash "Well my hands are aching my hands are real slippery right now but lets see( walks to three point line grabs basketball and palm blockers........ shoots it........... its in!) well I cant say it doesnt work because it does work and know if we are doing something that we are not too we have to shoot 20 shots with the palm blockers and it is absolutely exghausting and its not 20 attempts you have to make 20 shots from the three point line"
Mixmaster Joshua had something to say too "We have done some passing drills with it it was pretty difficult at first but once you get it you can get alot more accurate than with using your palm bounce passes come out a lot smoother. I've done some shots with it its pretty hard and tiring on your hands and wrist but its worth it"
AND1 has announced they will be releasing the equipment to the public Januarary 1st, 2007
